The Constant Heart MOBI ´ The Constant PDF or constant mobile, heart free, The Constant pdf, The Constant Heart PDFEPUBThis novel starts out great There's a prologue that discusses Einstein's use of a constant that helps describes the expansion of the universe and became relevant with the discovery that the universe's expansion is accelerating We then meet Jake as a high school student with a huge crush on Sara who lives in a juvenile group home and whose instability and erratic behavior leads her to freuently seek refuge in Jake's home which is anchored by Jake's dad and his integrity and compassion Jake and Sara also seek refuge in the physics section of the local library

The Constant Heart MOBI ´ The Constant PDF or constant mobile, heart free, The Constant pdf, The Constant Heart PDFEPUBThe Constant Heart is an exceptional and exceptionally ambitious novel The story evolves from a tale of stymied adolescent love paralleled by the breakdown of the boy’s parent’s marriage into a Deliverance like brutality thriller that culminates in the mysteries of morality and human relationsNova masterfully manages the limits of a first person narrator Jake who excels in relating both the ambiguities of what he sees and what he thinks The core triangle of Jake Sara his girlfriend and Jake’s father is amazingly stable and deep at each angle Sara’s adolescent interest in outlandish scheming is a wonderfully amusing emblem of her fundamental insecurity about life and herself She’s evasive and compelling Jake’s father another male stoic but a generous one gently lets his wife drift away into New Age folly Jake somehow manages to become a persuasively talented astronomer g

The Constant Heart MOBI ´ The Constant PDF or constant mobile, heart free, The Constant pdf, The Constant Heart PDFEPUBThis was much of a literary work than I usually readThe plot is driven by a very introspective man who's point of view is sleepily despondent Since he was rejected by Sara in his youth Jake has become rather detached from life He seeks meaning through the unknown and distant truths of space while passively going through the motions of his lifeIn the beginning there is reference to Einstein's constant and a mention that this book talks about what it's like to be a man in the modern world but neither of these things are really talked about much th

The Constant Heart MOBI ´ The Constant PDF or constant mobile, heart free, The Constant pdf, The Constant Heart PDFEPUBNot the best Craig Nova book I have read but it is well written and engaging It was a uick read and at times rather insightful What made it difficult for me to really get into this book is how heavy it lays on the this is what it means to be a man shtick and the dated Victorian notion of strength honor and responsibility as a marker of one's masculinity These tropes run throughout his writing but this book somewhat beats the reader over the head with themOverall it treads ground that has already been beaten into a well worn path middle class suburban son and father deal with father's impending death over a fishing trip but adds enough absurdity and hijinx to keep the plot interesting From a feminist stand point his take on gender relation is incredibly skewed and datedThe ending makes sense and ends the novel on a uiet introspective note Reading this book was no
